Meet Andrea
Hello and welcome ā I'm so glad you found me! If you love the idea of a ceremony that's personal, heartfelt and a bit of fun, then we're probably going to get along great!
I truly love what I do and feel like I have one of the best jobs in the world. I love people (and dogs, clearly!), I love hearing great love stories, I love entertaining, and I love creating unique experiences. Becoming a celebrant has allowed me to bring all of these things together in a way that feels like it was meant to be.
When I am not singing or celebrant-ing, you can find me: hiking or going to a pilates class, walking my beloved dog Sadie, at the movies or checking out some live theatre, meditating, travelling the world, and spending quality time with my loved ones.
It would be my absolute honour to help you create a wedding day that feels authentic, memorable, and completely you ā and I would love to play a small part in bringing your dream day to life.
My Journey as a Celebrant
I was lucky enough to become a Celebrant after already spending several years working in the wedding industry as a professional singer, DJ and MC. Over that time, I had the privilege of being part of so many beautiful weddingsā¦ but I also witnessed quite a few ceremonies that felt a little uninspiring. More than once I caught myself thinking, "I think I could do better than that!" ā and create something truly unique and special for couples planning their big day.
Fast forward to 2020 when the craziness of Covid hit the world. Like many people, everything suddenly slowed down for me ā but it also gave me the perfect lockdown project: completing my celebrant training! And the rest, as they say, is history...
My Experience as a Performer
Born and raised in Canada, I obtained my BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Windsor. Throughout my career, I've worked across the entertainment industry, including live concerts, theatre, film, TV, music recordings, and commercial work.
I've toured internationally as Agnetha in ABBAMANIA, performed as a featured soloist with symphony orchestras across North America, opened for Australian recording artist Dami Im, and was a Top 20 finalist on CBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, performing for Andrew Lloyd Webber at the London Palladium.
My training in classical voice and acting has given me amazing opportunities to sing a wide variety of musical styles including Pop/Rock, Soul, Jazz, Dance, Opera, R & B, Easy Listening & Folk genres.
